She then joined in the Seattle Reign FC now OL Reign of the National Women's Soccer League NWSL that was formed following the WPS split up. Rapinoe began to be among the best scorers for her team. In 2018 she was able to assume the cocaptain role for the U.S. team. Rapinoe has won two bronze medals during the United States' 4-3 win against Australia in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Japan has been postponed until 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
